Does your skin tan better through a thin layer of water?

Does your skin tan better if you have water on it? i.e when coming out of the water and you sun bake, does your skin tan better then just sitting in the sun on any normal day???? Or does your skin tan better if you are swimming and lightly covered in water.

Does your skin tan better through a thin layer of water?
It tans at the same rate. However being in the water can alleviate some of the 'heat' you usually get from sunbathing.

Please don't use baby oil or any oil in your skin. Think of a roast in the oven, you put oil and salt on it to make the skin crackle. You don't want to do that to your skin even mildly.

I wouldn't suggest going out specifically to tan at all. Some sun is good but too much can kill.
Reply:The skin tans better if you are doing something, not just laying there, cause the tan is not going to be even. Try playing beach volleyball, or swimming...the water doesn't matter, really, but it feels nice as the sun dries it off!. Try baby oil, is the most effective tanner!
