Why are muslims so thin skinnned?

A few European papers post a few cartoons and the muslim world is having a fit. Why are muslims so thin skinned? Europe is secular. They have a free press. Why all the drama?

(if you don't know what I am referring too, read.. http://news.google.com/news?hl=en%26amp;ned=us...

And here is the real irony. The cartoons suggest muslims are prone to violence, so to protest the cartoons, muslims are turning to violence.

Why are muslims so thin skinnned?
Obliviously, they are just following their terrorizing, raving nature... being violent (or stormy), making noise, all along lacking in restraint and discipline. That's terrorists for you. They are trying to terrorize the Newspaper people.

The basics of terrorizing is: To frighten with threats or a show of force, or to intimidate/scare. Muslims just put butter on their terror.

They probably would like to kill them over a cartoon. Muslims are so prone to violence... there will not be peace with them... as it seems.
Reply:yes thats ironic (but not a surprise for some reason)
Reply:must be that desert heat.
Reply:yo this really disrespectful for the Muslims....yo u talkin Muslims are terrorist?? look what the U.S is doin..remember when the drop the nuclear bomb on Japan?? how many civilians did they killed, maybe if every year a 9/11 happen from Muslims "which i dont believe they are" wont catch up with the numbers that the U.S killed. Plus what about the KKK?? so when i see that i'm gonna be look at these christian they are terrorist. and when i see Jews killing lil' kids in lebanon and palestine, i'm gonna be like look at the Jews they are terrorist....basically, this is bullshit, u cant judge jews or christians or muslims by a small groups
Reply:Don't they remember the disrespectful cartoons of Chuck Colson when he accepted Christ in 1973? Or how about 40% of the Hollywood movies that portray Christians as nuts and weirdos. Just watched Edward Scissorhands--yep, there's a religious nut! If anyone should get thin-skinned by now it's the Christian.

But I will tell you why Muslims are so thin-skinned, because their god needs someone to fight for him. If Allah were indeed god, what is a few puny cartoons to him? It does not change his rank. No, he needs men to do all the speaking for him because Allah will not speak at all.

To the Christian, all the bad press in the world (and we see it daily) does not change God's nature, His light, His gospel, His Word, His truth, or the prophesied future. And besides, He told us to love our enemies and to pray for those who despitefully use us and say all manner of evil against us falsley. Sometimes I slip on this message board and try to defend God when someone says something disrespectful, but then I think better of it, go on to another post where someone is searching. I try to pray for such people instead, but it isn't easy.

Is the skin of xiao long bao made using rice flour?

I've made it using wheat flour before which seems to work fine... but maybe rice flour is more appropriate to ensure a thinner skin?

Is the skin of xiao long bao made using rice flour?
I always thought it was only made with wheat flour (: yummy I love xiao long bao! I'm not sure rice flour would ensure the stability of holding the meat and soup. Who knows, try it out?

Small skin-colored benign skin lesion?

I have in the past had a small skin-colored bump, or raised area about the size of an average mole, come up under my eye, like in the soft, thinner skin right below my eyelashes. I went to a skin cancer clinic and he shaved it off. It wasn't anything malignant, but now, about 8 months later, another one is forming in the same general area (about half an inch away from the original site) with a tinier one next to it. I have called the skin cancer clinic to ask what the first one was in the first place, since all I ever got was a good report from pathology. Has anyone had anything like this before? I am in my early 40's and have very fair skin.

Small skin-colored benign skin lesion?
Cholesteatoma is usually in the ear.

It is best to get the original pathology report which you should be able to get. Try to call your doctor first. If they can't give it to you, get the phone number for that pathology lab. They can certainly give it to you (it is your report).

It could be squamous papilloma or skin tag which is benign. Both can recur.

It is still a good idea to have them excised and sent to the Pathology Lab again for diagnosis.

Good luck.
Reply:Cholesteatoma probably in that area.

What is the stuff that you put on scars to make the skin appear better?

i am sure there is a cream or similar that people can put on scars to improve the appearance. Does anyone know what it is, where I can get it and if it makes very thin skin on scar thicken or improve at all?

What is the stuff that you put on scars to make the skin appear better?
Bio Oil is great but by far the best in my opinion is Glycolic acid, but you have to be really careful with this as it is what is says, ACID. It's fantastic for wrinkles, but if you use it in the summer make sure you wear a really high SPF because it can cause dark patches %26amp; use only as directed, it's fantastic for stretch marks as well.
Reply:Mederma, also silicone gel pads
Reply:It's called gio oil or something and you get it at the chemist in a white and orange box.
Reply:merderma
Reply:Mederma sp? It is supposed to make the scar fade.
Reply:I think its called mederma
Reply:coconut butter
Reply:bio oil
Reply:Coconut butter is the best I've ever seen. It can take away the appearance of the scar almost completely, but it only works if you start using it shortly after you got the scar.
Reply:i know a couple of people who used vitamin e gel tabs. they split them open and then rubbed it on the scar. they said it helped. i personally have never tried it.
Reply:BIO OIL, at Boots, and yes it works.
Reply:Vitamin E oil. You can get it from any health food place or even Wal-Mart or Target. It will help w/ the appearance of your scars. You need to put it on a few times a day. Scars take a while to heal, but this will def. help the appearance of it. It worked for me after my knee surgery.

Good Luck!!!
Reply:For a Fast fix..Most of the nicer stores like Macy's, Gottschalks, JCPenney have the products you need in there make-up department. Ask one of the sales professionals to recommend something to go with your skin type and color. One of the most Popular is Dermablend. To help reduce a fresher scar try Mederma.

Can you get ink poisoning from a tattoo on veiny skin? (ex. inner wrist)?

Is is possible to get ink poisoning from tattoos on areas that have thin skin and veins close to the surface, such as your inner wrist?

Can you get ink poisoning from a tattoo on veiny skin? (ex. inner wrist)?
No; but you may be allergic to what they give you.

It is always possible that you could go into anaphactic shock.

Systemic toxicity could however arise if introvenous injection occurs
Reply:The type of ink used for a tattoo in non toxic unless your getting it in jail in which case aids and hepatitis would be bigger concerns.
Reply:The tattoo needle just punches your dermis; it doesn't go deep enough to hit veins. If it did hit a vein, it would bleed a lot and be hard to miss.

If you accidentally spill a blood or semen sample (w/ HIV) in your skin, will you have also an HIV?

Like working as a nurse or medical technologist, if the blood or semen sample (which is positive of HIV) is spilled on your skin, especially thin skin such as arms or face, will you have a high chance of having one?

If you accidentally spill a blood or semen sample (w/ HIV) in your skin, will you have also an HIV?
Hi there,

There is a theoretical chance of infection, yes. HIV enters the body through open cuts, sores, or breaks in the skin; through mucous membranes, such as those inside the anus or vagina; or through direct injection. If you did not have any open cuts or sores you should be fine. HIV is not an easy virus to catch and it is very fragile: the virus dies upon caontact with air. If you were accidentally pricked with a needle, as can happen in health care settings, then you have more of a cause to be concerned. For those who do happen to find that they are in that situation (accidental needle prick) and are able to get to a health care facility or their doctor within 72 hours, doctors will put that person on PEP treatment. There is no guarantee that PEP will prevent the infection from happening simply because there is no way to determine whether the person had been infected or not nor is there any way to determine that IF they were in fact infected that PEP "cured" it.

There is a "window period" which is the time it takes the body to produce antibodies after HIV infection has begun. For the vast majority of those who will test positive, antibodies to HIV will develop within 4-6 weeks after exposure. Some will take a little longer to develop antibodies. Since PEP starts within 72 hours of possible exposure, antibodies have not had a chance to develop. Regardless, after PEP treatment for a month, doctors will want to retest at 3 months time to confirm diagnosis either HIV+ or HIV-.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.
Reply:yes,high percentage,oh my, u must get help quickly,no joke.
Reply:No. Unless you have an open wound.
Reply:i dont think that if its unbroken skin it will affect you. but if it goes into a sore, open wound, eye, and possibly mouth you will get it. if it in any way gets into your bloodstream you will get it.
Reply:its possible, if one has a cut or wound on the skin - but it is highly unlikely. hospitals are supposed to have policies in place where this kind of accident is reported. so this should be reported to the supervisor.
Reply:if you live in the US, you should notify the superior

in hospitals, they usually have procedures that a person has to go thru, such as taking drugs for prevention for several months, take the hiv test after a few months, because it takes time for the virus to develop in the body, etc

it is possible that the person can get infected
Reply:HIV can be transmitted by blood/ semen but it must come into contact with the blood in your body. It can NOT penetrate skin unless it is damaged (i.e open cut) or if you spill some in your eyes, for example.
Reply:no as long as u didnt have no cuts on ur skin
Reply:yeah sadly STDs are absorbed through the skin.

you are in bad shape my friend.

Over the long run, does glycolic acid make your skin thinner or thicker?

It thins the skin by removing the outer layer, but it also promotes collagen production. So in the long run is it good or bad for your skin?

Over the long run, does glycolic acid make your skin thinner or thicker?
Glycolic Acid is a thorough exfoliator, removing the outer layers of thickened or damaged skin leaving a smoother and healthier appearance. Glycolic Acid can penetrate the deeper layers of the skin, increasing the rate of dead cell shedding, new skin cell production and collagen formation. With prolonged use, Glycolic Acid has been found to be beneficial in improving dry skin, treating age spots, improving oily and acne prone skin and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles... So in the long run your skin will be ok... Please dont ask why the hell I know this!

Is there anything i can do to improve translucent skin.?

Besides tanning. I am six months pregnant so tanning is out of the question. Im not extremely pale. I just have really thin skin and you can see my veins everywhere. Especially on my chest and arms. Think of the last carie movie they made.

Tanning made it go away to the point that my boyfriend didnt even realize how bright my veins are until i stopped going for a few months and things went back to normal. To me i look horrible. People are always amazed at how bright and big my veins are. I just want them to not be as noticeable.

Is there anything i can do to improve translucent skin.?
Maybe try a self-tanner. BeautiControl makes a great self-tanning system called Leg Apeel. It's actually made for your legs, but you can use it anywhere, except probably on your face. It is a 3-step system that gives really natural-looking results.

1. Peel! Overnight, Leg Peel loosens dry, dead skin cells, especially on knees and ankles, so when you use Leg Scrub the next morning, you get ultimate exfoliation power. Cover your legs with Leg Peel prior to bedtime and allow to dry before getting in bed.

2. Scrub! In your morning shower, Leg Scrub polishes and smoothes skin for the best application of Self Tanner for Legs possible. Massage gently into your skin – paying special attention to your knees and ankles. Then rinse and shave your legs. This blend of sugar and salt leaves legs silky soft and moisturized.

3. Self-tan! Self Tanner for Legs contains advanced ingredients for an even, natural-looking tan that’s never “orangey.” Start at your ankles, applying the tanner sparingly on ankles and knees, and work your way up, massaging into skin in circular motions. The tanner is tinted to help you know where you’ve applied the product to ensure even coverage. Avoid contact with your clothing until the product is dry. For deeper color, wait at least 24 hours before re-applying. Color should last for several days, but you’ll want to re-apply at least weekly to maintain color.

You can order it online at www.beautipage.com/malorifulgham%26gt;product... new products%26gt;leg apeel
Reply:Use thick foundation makeup to cover up the veins. Find makeup that matches Your skin tone. People dont usually look at others arms for too long so it wont be very noticible. For your chest, do the same thing or just dont wear low cut shirts

thin skin?? or thin hair on his body??

it could be food issues - he needs suppliments?

if the hair loss is spotty you should have a vet check him
Reply:could be ur not feeding him enough or he has a disease. take him to those horse doctors.
Reply:Well, he isn't sickly or anything, is he? I have, what you would call, a "traditional" Appaloosa - he has hardly any mane and tail, but he's about as hardy as they come being 16 hands high and very well built. Appaloosa's are probably one of the most unique breed of horse out there, because no two are ever really the same. If you feel that your horse is in danger in some way, shape, or form, than you should probably call a vet to ease your worry; but thin skin, mane and tail isn't something I'd worry about!
Reply:Need more info, write me if you want...breed of horse, age, allergies, how long the hair has been gone, color of horse, area it is kept in, with or without other horses in the same pen, type of shavings (if any) used, diet...... etc.
Reply:I would call a vet and ask him.
Reply:The first thing your vet is going to check after allergies is going to be thyroid problems. I agree that you need to give more info..like what is the overall body condition of the horse? what breed? age? feed? worming schedule?

Is there any way to thicken my skin?

i have eczema and i use topical steroids will i have thin skin forever please help me!

Is there any way to thicken my skin?
The thinning is due to the continuous steroid treatment. Once you are no longer applying the steroids then your skin with thicken again. You should go see an allergy specialist to find out what is causing the eczema.

You may try a vitamin E oil (if it does not irritate your eczema). Vitamin E is very good for the skin and is actually being used in the treatment of burn victims at many burn centers across the United States. Vit E has strong rejuvenating and healing effects on the skin.

Will the chemical of the skin peeling makes my skin thinner?

currently im planing to do chemical peel on my face but i heard someone told me chemical peel is risky and the result is no gurantee. Inaddition my skin will get thinner and i will lost a protection from sun exposure after i peel. Is anyone there can provide me with more information about this?

Will the chemical of the skin peeling makes my skin thinner?
This is somewhat correct. You will literally remove the skin cells on the surface with the microbrasion. This skin will grow back and no you won't have thin skin but it is always a good idea to put on some sunscreen if you recently removed skin cells because the sun can penetrate causing redness, irritation or in some severe cases skin cancer.

There are beautiful blacks and beautiful whites, just as beauty comes in tall and short, male and female, slender and curvaceous.

That is the origination of why being pale is less accepted than having what he all call and revere as a healthy glow. Should i prepare my skin for a tattoo??

Should i prepare my skin for a tattoo??
i'm sure that everyone who knows they're getting a tattoo, know's it's going to be there forever.

don't listen to the idiot's below you saying "omg, it's gonna be there for life %26amp; it'll be gross when you're older. blah blah."

life's too short to be scared of **** like that, seriously. just go for it.

if you're scared for your skin being dry, lotion it daily, over %26amp; over again. there's nothing wrong with doing that.. but for having "thin" skin, there's no way of fixing that.. infact i've never heard of "thin" skin. everyone has the same amount of skin on their body.

good luck!
Reply:i owuld make sure tht it is nice n soft so it is easy 4 the needle 2 get through n so its not 2 hard if u know wat i mean..x
Reply:softening the skin might help the ink to stay in the skin better.

As long as you shower on a regular basis you shouldn't have a problem. dry skin or not.
Reply:Oh dear. Not good, not good at all. I fear that the needle may rip straight through you and come out on the other side.
Reply:First, have you prepared yourself? Painful and for life. The tatoo will come out better if your skin is not dry, so definetly moisturize a lot.

Still......are you prepared to have this on you for the rest of your life?????
Reply:It's not going to make a difference but you can moisturize if you want. Before you get the tat, they will shave the area so that takes care of any hair and skin cells.
Reply:I would apply lotion to the area on a regular basis. It will help the tattoo take better, and will help with the healing process.
Reply:DONT GET A TATTOO!!!!
Reply:Yes, it does help. When I got my first tattoo, I had a dry spot near my ankle which lead to the ink not staying there that well and having to get touched up within a few weeks. The ink will stay better if the skin isn't dry.

Is it possible to skin over grout in floor tile?

I would like to apply a thin skin of grout over existing grout lines in my floor tile. Is this doable?

Is it possible to skin over grout in floor tile?
Why?

If your grout is dirty, clean it and reseal.

If it is cracked, take a Dremel and grind it out, replace and seal.
Reply:Good question, so would I.
Reply:nothings impossible, but some things wouldnt turn out the best.
Reply:The best way to redo tile grout is to grind the old grout and apply new stuff. If you just try to "skin over" old grout, the new skin probably won't stick to it for very long because the grout is hardened and, just like cement, or concrete, if the grouts "pores" are hardened then the new grout can only penetrate the closest and available ones. Grout is so dense that it is unlikely that you would get new to stick to old without grinding out a good portion of the old before you try to "reskin" it. Also, after the grinding process, make sure that you saturate the old grout, with water, to make it more acceptable to the new grout.
Reply:They have color stains for the grout now. Try that.
Reply:Very easily done and very effective seal against dirt and discoloration.

Take ordinary portland cement plus a hardener and some ordinary latex paint as a colorant Mix about 3 cups of portland cement to 3/4 cup hardener and 1/3 cup of latex paint. Add water as needed.

Mist the tile first, wetting it good then take the mix above and go down the grooves with a leather glove finger and it will make them look like new and last indefenitely .

This method is used in commercial building and seals the tile. No more silicone junk needed once you seal up the grout this way.
Reply:The Tile Council of North America recommends you remove at least 1/2 the depth of the existing grout. Dremel tool works best, though tile dealers do sell a hand-tool.

I'd recommend removing 2/3 of the existing grout, to be safe.

If you want to avoid doing this again in the future, use either an epoxy grout (available at Lowes under the name SpectraLock), or seal your floor when you are done.

Can u get dead skin in your mouth?

so at the top of my gums in between my gums and my teeth .. the part that is in the right upper corner of your mouth on the outside of your teeth... there is like white thin skin coming off my gums up there... whats going on? i bruch my teeth floss n use mouth wash so its not from that but what is it?

Can u get dead skin in your mouth?
I have never heard of dead skin in your mouth. And I work with mouths all day. It could be an allergy to something.

Best thing to do is go see your dentist and have him look at it. Only he can tell you exactly what it is.

I searched this site over and over and it says nothing about skin being dead in your mouth caused by no reason.

http://www.nsc.gov.sg/cgi-bin/WB_Content...

First tatoo and sensitive skin?

I am scheduled to have my first tattoo next Sat. I want a small basic outline of the Claddagh ring (hands holding a heart with a crown on top). I have very sensitive and thin skin...placement suggestions? I was thinking my lower right back.

Does anyone know how small a tattoo artist can go?

First tatoo and sensitive skin?
The lower back is a very painful and sensitive place. I have one on there, and it hurt very mch. The most comfortable was on my chest for me. But get it whereever you like, it all hurts a little bit anyway.
Reply:Thin skin is not necessarily a bad thing. the lower back Sides especially are sensitive due to more muscle than skin and bone. I know 1st hand my muscles "jumped" a lot when i was being drilled on. (I have 5 tattoos 2 large and 3 small) the center parts of my back top and bottom did NOT hurt nearly as bad. I have a dragon in the top center that is rather big and its pain was a 4 compared to the rose which is much smalled i got on the lower left part of my back where there is much more skin and muscle and it was an 8 in pain. I also know that the color RED seems to be the #1 color for people to be sensitive to for some reason. I suggest talking with several (3 or 4) tattoo artists and get their input before committing to location and size.
Reply:The first response said the lower back is painful which isn't necessarily true. I have five tattoos and two of them are very large and on my lower back. Everyones nerve patterns in their skin are different.

If you get something that is RIGHT on a bone, like the top of your foot- it is probably going to hurt a bit. Other than that, it just depends on your nerves. I have one on each hip that didn't hurt at all, my two lower back ones where fine- I fell asleep even- except one little spot nearly killed me. My artist told me it is random what will make you jump.

As far as how small the artist can go, they can go pretty much as small as you want. If it is possible to draw it that small- then it can be tattooed that small. I would at least get it big enough to get your money's worth though.

Good luck!
Reply:Sensitive skin has nothing to do with getting a tattoo. It has to do with how thick your skin is and what level of pain tolerance u have. I have several tattoos and the first one i got was on my lower back, in which i have chinese characters on my neck and some on my ankle and a shoulder piece. Out of all of them the lower back was the most painfull ( i almost past out) anywhere close to your butt, which has the most nerves will be painfull. But if you can take that part of your body no problem then, anywhere else on your body should be easy. Good luck! By the way u will regret a small tattoo... cause later on the ink will start to smear and if u get a small tat later on it will look like a black blob... u dont want that.
Reply:A small colored tattoo will look like a blob of nothing in 10 years, be careful about getting too much detail in a small tattoo. I have a few tattoos, i suggest you consider the covered parts like back, thighs, breasts for tattoo especially if you are not keen on having it on display every day. painful areas are where the skin is more soft like near armpits, nipples, and also hurts like hell across a bony area, i was getting tattooed across the breast plate on my chest, on the bone it felt like i was being stabbed in the chest with a jackhammer.

Enjoy the experience, take the time to have it done in a peaceful place, and remember the tattoo is just an ornament to prove you went through the pain of getting it done..... hmmm?
Reply:1st am Irish. very pale, sensitive and thin skin. I have 2 tattoos on my lower back one on each side. They hurt but nothing I couldn't tolerate. My 3rd is in between my shoulder blades. It's a Celtic cross that runs down my spine %26amp; out to the edges of my shoulder blades, that was the least painful of the three (accept when they got close to bones on my shoulders). Placement really should be based on whether you want it visable, future employment, weight loss and gain due to life changes (no tummy tattos if you are having kids)

When it comes to size you don't want to go too small. you lose the detail and over time it will just look like a black blob of ink. Your artist will recomend how small you can go. Good luck
Reply:Hon, some people have a higher tollerance for pain than other and on some people, the lower back hurts for others it doesn't.

It don't matter where you get it, its going to hurt. It won't hurt bad at all, infact its a bareable pain, kind of annoying. Trust me you will be okay. Don't worry about it. And don't get it too small, don't get it somewhere that you can gain excessive weight at. I have 2 sparrows with banners under each and in the banner 1st banner says Kayla 2nd banner Jamie. It is between my shoulder blades!!!

Its nothing to get worked up over at all. You will do fine trust me....Good luck Hope everything goes well!!!! HAVE FUN!!!
Reply:I would say either there, on like your hip, or in between your shoulder blades. If you have sensitive skin, it is going to hurt no matter where you get it. That tattoo would look really good on the inside of your wrist, the area is a little painful but a small tattoo doesn't take long to complete so you would only have to sit through it for like 45 minutes. How small they can do your tattoo depends on how intricate the design is. The more intricate, the larger it needs to be. If it is jsut the basic outline of the ring with the heart in the middle and the hands they should be able to do it pretty small.

Good luck to you!! =]

Is plain soap the way to go?? How to make my skin look fresh and alive???

Hi after years of trying out products such as clinique, lancome, clarins I still have bad skin. I have been using for the past year clerasils ultra range as it cleared up spots and I loved the exfoliating effect. However, when I wash my face and apply no make up i literally look grey. I have patchy skin tone...red little patches....thin skin under my eyes which is literally grey/purple colour....dry patches between eyebrows which no exfoliating shits. I really look like one of those celebs without make up awful pics every day but I hate having to wear make up every single day as it adds 20 mins on to my routine every morning. Guys says they hate make up but i look a horror without it. Im only 24 and in good shape and the doctor says its not classed as problem skin as i dont have enough spots for it to be acne but the spots are horrible.

What does anyone recommend for putting colour back into my skin and making me look healthy??

Is plain soap the way to go?? How to make my skin look fresh and alive???
Try drink lots of water to hydrate your skin, eat fresh foods for vitamins etc....

Only use natural product on your skin.......the chinese shop sell herbal soaps...

Moisture you skin daily.....with vitamin e, olive oil, coco butter or pearl cream (purchase at chinese store)
Reply:my sister in law has had the same problem - got an email from her the other day sounding very excited - she finally had sorted out her skin. She used to use all the same products you mention.

The has gone organic; food, makeup, lotions.washing detergent.

Reply:Eat healthy food, drink plenty of water. If you don't eat fish regularly take some fish oil supplements.

For cleansers, as I said in a previous post, I swear by Cetaphil. It's the one recommended by a lot of dermatologists and you can get it at chemists or priceline.
Reply:Using plain soap is going to do no good in fact would dry your skin up and make it look terrible. I would rather recommend you use a good skin moisturiser which nourishes your skin, is oil free and gives your skin a natural look. My personal best skin care cream is Zenmed's three step system. Ever since I have began using it, I feel quite excited with the wonders it has done for my skin.

Help with red splotchy skin on chest?

I have very thin skin. The skin on my chest always appears red and rashy looky. It gets worse if I tan. Is there anything I can do to reduce the redness or is it something I've just got to live with?

Help with red splotchy skin on chest?
I've suffered with the same thing all my life, I'm a redhead with quite sensitive skin. I once spoke with my GP and all he advised was to keep it well moisturised and use a high SPF on it when in the sun. I did use the green powder you use to reduce redness on your face when I wore low cut frocks and that used to minimise how it looked.
Reply:i would ask a doctor, maybe a dermatologist.
Reply:rub lotion on it
Reply:My Exwife had the same thing with her chest. She went to the Doctor for it and there is nothing they can do to change it. Don't worry, it doesn't make any difference in how pretty you are.
Reply:I use to have something similar to this I got it because I tanned in the tanning bed.

It is called Sun Poison it is an fungal infection of the skin.

Try rubbing real emu oil on it several times a day.You can get this from a vitamin shop that sells the real stuff not some that is manufactured. But if it does not clear up go to a doctor.

Advice you get this from the tanning bed not being cleaned normally.Which is why I stopped going to one.It took about 6 weeks to get rid of mine the emu oil is the only thing that gets rid of it for good.

The 250.00 cream the doctor gave me made it go away for only a short time.P.S. mine would be white then turn to red in heat.
Reply:It sounds like you have sensitive skin, however it is very likely you will always get redness or a rash to some extent. First try switching your products for you skin to some without perfume or for sensitive skin. Second switch to non-biological washing liquid or powder, as biological can irritate your skin. If these don't work then go to your doctor and let him have a look - you may have a skin disorder such as Rosacae, although you don't mention any face symptoms, but it needs checking out.

I am 45, and have very thin skin. It just rips. Also I bruise easily. And I keep the bruises forever, If I cut or tear my skin open, it takes forever to heal. What could it be?

What could this condition be and what can I do to improve ther situation?

Weak, easily tearing skin?
My mother is 64 %26amp; has the same problem. As will I my skin is already thin %26amp; bruises easily. I have worked in numerous nursing homes %26amp; hospitals %26amp; unfortunatly there's not much you can do.Thin skin isn't a problem that can be fixed. I have got stretchmarks and thin skin on my legs. Lately I have gained quite a few spider veins and damaged capillaries. My skin has also become quite sensitive. Any ideas how I can reduce the sensitivity as I am finding it quite painful some days

Help with tender skin?
This situation needs to be evaluated by a dr to find out what could be causing this tenderness (which can be caused by thinning skin).

In the mean time ask your dr if it's ok to try a cool bath to see if that helps ease some of the sensitivity of your skin.

Does skinny mean having a lot of skin? Why do people always say skinny means thin?

yeah

Does skinny mean having a lot of skin? Why do people always say skinny means thin?
Because thin people tend to have people thinking "WOW. Their all skin and bones". So they are saying they don't have a lot of meat on them and are just skin and bone (of course blood and joints and all that other stuff)
Reply:well, maybe it means that you can actually show a lot of skin without feeling liek a pig
Reply:yes it means you are thin, and the rest is hanging and waiting for future use in a more productive way.

Thicker skin / extra layer for dark circles?

I have hereditary dark circles under my eyes (got pale, thin skin). Is there any way of making the skin thicker / creating an extra layer naturally, e.g. with oils, fat, or other subsatnces?

Thank you in advance.

Thicker skin / extra layer for dark circles?
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11...

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Reply:I too have dark circles under my eyes. What you should do is always apply eye cream, specifically an eye cream that gets rid of dark circles. Try Clinique's line of eye creams, they are great.

Remember that the skin around our eyes is 6 times thinner than the rest of our body so you gotta take extreme care to that area. Oh and if you have nasal problems (allergies, sinusitis, cold) there's no way to make your dark circles go away, because what you see as dark circles is actually the blood flowing slower than it should because of your congestion.

Excess skin/flaps at the lower part of the vagina entrance?

This may be a normal anatomy of my vagina and just never noticed it before.... But, I have excess thin skin/flaps located at the bottom of the entrance to my vagina and not sure if this is natural or something is going on. No discomfort or anything.... I have an appointment with the gyn in a few days for an annual check up but, want to see if other females have this same skin/flaps... thank you for your help.

Excess skin/flaps at the lower part of the vagina entrance?
women have a labia majora and a labia minora and there is a thin skin flap at the bottom of the vaginal opening other than that there shouldnt be any huge skin folds. but every women is different and as long as it is normal for you and there is no abnormal or rapid growth I wouldn't worry about it.
Reply:Those are your inner set of labia. The outer set is the two puffy little "hot dog bun" looking things that surround your clitoris. Every woman's labia are shaped differently, and come in different sizes. It's nothing to worry about.
Reply:As a guy, I've seen all kinds of vaginal differences on women. Unless you have blockage or pain I wouldnt worry, but check the doc anyway. Hey, extra parts can add extra pleasure.
Reply:I DON'T HAVE A FLABBY COOCHIE, GOOD LUCK

My cat is almost a year old.. he is thin everywhere but his belly.feels like loose skin..how can we get rid of
Are you talking about the pooch between his rib cage and back legs? Is your cat fixed? I've noticed that all of my cats who have been fixed get the belly pooch. If you cat is the proper weight, I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as it doesn't seem to bother him. If you're concerned it might be serious talk to your veterinarian.
Reply:Im not sure but that sounds like a hernia in the belly. If you had your cat fixed it could have affected him that way to. I seriously suggest that you take your cat to the vet and have him evaluated for a possible abdominal hernia.

Guys: Skinny, Thin, Curvey, Chubby, Fat?

Guys which do you prefer on a girl? I'll define each one:

Skinny: Stick thin, skin and bones..

Thin: Healthy, thin...small everywhere but also healthy

Curvey: Thin with bigger chest, butt, thighs, but healthy and fit.

Chubby: A bit overweight with some extra meat.

Fat: Well....fat and unhealthy.

Which one do you prefer and think is sexy on a woman? Be honest.

Guys: Skinny, Thin, Curvey, Chubby, Fat?
I'm an old guy nowadays and in my time I've enjoyed the company of all the types listed... I will be the first to admit that they all had their pluses and minuses...but if your asking what one feature I'm drawn too then the answer is any woman with long hair and a pretty smile...the rest is just smoke and mirrors
Reply:Curvey: Thin with bigger chest, butt, thighs, but healthy and fit.

Causes for dry, peeling, thinned out skin??

I have been taking a multi vitamin with high levels of vit A but it has high levels of all of them including fish oils and alpha lipoic acid. My face is clear and even coloured but my skin is flaking off and feels very thin and tight, and when I squint or stretch my face it wrinkles all over like theres no water in my skin. i use sunscreen and very rich moisturiser but it doesnt stop the stretchy wrinkly thing. I'm 23 and way to young for wrinkles!!!

Causes for dry, peeling, thinned out skin??
Too much vitamin A can cause this problem. There are some vitamins that you can take very high doses and your body removes what you don't need. But the fat soluable vitamins like A, are different, and you can get too much of those. Even though your multivitamin may have the borderline dose, if you're getting anything else with the vitamin in it, you're getting too much. A simple test would be to cut back on your multivitamin--take it just every other day and see what happens. If your skin improves, you've got your answer. If not, then it could be some underlying disease process causing your troubles. See a dermatologist.
Reply:Try using some oils on ur face. U can get it in any store. Apply it before taking bath and massage it on ur face in circular motions.U can also try Cetaphil moisturiser. It works well. Non greasy. Try not to wash ur face with hot water. Try warm water. Eat healthy food. Drink more water.
Reply:Deficiency of Vit.A

VITAMIN A.

Xeropthalmia
Reply:Vitamins are good, but too much can be bad for you. If you've been taking the vitamins faithfully and had normal skin beforehand, you should cut back your dosage. See a dermatologist also. I know some about skin care, but not as much as the doctors.

Have you been using an astringent with high alcohol content? That and other acne medication with salyclic acid can also have a tightening and thinning feeling effect.

Why is the skin underneath our eyes so sensitive n thin??

Whenever i rub my eyes or something it becomes red instantly compared to other parts of my face, is there a special purpose for this??

Why is the skin underneath our eyes so sensitive n thin??
The skin around your eyes is the thinnest on your body and the capillaries are SO close to the surface thus the immediate redness when stimulated by rubbing. I think I read that the epidermis there is only 1 mm thick. Take care of it and DON'T rub or expose it to sun or tanning beds! You will avoid the "saggy-baggys" that way.
Reply:I'm not really sure but I think its thin because if its going to be too thick we would have a hard time to open our eyes
Reply:maybe its allergies....
Reply:Co'z there is no layer of fat in that area.So there is nothing to protect it.

I am 33 & thin 118 lbs but i was out of shape. biking & yoga now but will the skin get tight again in time?

i have a lot of cellulite %26amp; my skin seems "too big" will it get tight and smooth the more I exercise or will my skin stay loose and flabby??

I am 33 %26amp; thin 118 lbs but i was out of shape. biking %26amp; yoga now but will the skin get tight again in time?
It will probably stay loose. I recommend a skin firming lotion like Nivea
Reply:Your skin will get its elasticity back in time. To speed things up try a firming cream like nivea as well as excercise. As an added supplement of course. I lost 45 lbs. after having my son and had alot of tummy skin that was floppy and icky. I slathered my belly every day as well as kept up my excercise. And it has really helped alot!
Reply:It depends on how big you were before you started exercising.

Skin does have a natural elasticity, but only to a certain point. As for celulite, it is evident in EVERYONE'S body, it's just more prominent in some than others. You can reduce the signs of celulite with exercise and healthy diet, however this does take time, it is not an over night, or even over month fix.

Be patient, be consistent.

In alot of cases where the skin has been stretched past it's point of elasticity the only remedy is cosmetic surgery (ie. "the biggest loser" competitions).

This should be your last resort!!!

Please also keep in mind that these "firming lotions" etc have been proven to make absolutely no difference.

Good luck, and stay with it :)

How long before we develop fabric that will be so thin yet so well insulated that it'll be like another skin?

yet it'll keep you warm no matter how cold it gets and cool when it's like mid summer here in texas? do you think people will be comfortable enough with their bodies to walk around in public wearing basically just another layer of skin or is that too far fetched because you know one day they'll have a cure for obesity and everyone can have that perfect body.

How long before we develop fabric that will be so thin yet so well insulated that it'll be like another skin?
Materials like this exist now...it's just that they are too expensive to be mass produced.

Gore-Tex was the first kind of this, but it's still rather thick. There are plenty of materials that are much thinner - these are used in military and special applications.

I live in Texas too...and if it kept me cool in the summertime, I'd be willing to walk around just wearing another layer of skin!

I recommend that you go and make an appointment to see a very reputable model agency, a very well know one!!. Don't listen to anyone that's not affiliate with a top agency. There are so many wolves in sheep clothing out there ready to get you in to all sorts of bad stuff.

I modelled for 18 years, mainly runway stuff. Your portfolio is the tool that will get you the big gigs and it will cost quite a bit so prepare for that. A good portfolio will set you back $2000-$5000+. Your agency will recommend a good reputable photographer for you.

Good luck!

I want to change from black hair to choch brown w/ platnium thin highlights.I dont know what season my skin is

I have slight roceacea and ruddyness. I chose black hair for years to wash my rosyiness out. I hate that ruddy red look around my T zone.

Well im getting abt old for black and when I read through skin seasons one point I feel like im summer then it sounds more like spring.

All I know is even when I buy ivory foundatin it seems too dark and doesnt match my neck which is so pale...

I am looking into buying some self tanners just to giv me a little bit human looking.

My main delima is trying to decide if a chochlate herseys brown is right for me with platnum highlights like my instincts tell me or should I competly do something else?

are you asking about hair or skin?

if you have very dark hair, especially dyed black with permanent color, it is difficult to have platinum high light , and whole color change, too...

better to go to the salon.

When people alot of weight , why is there excess skin left when they are thin?

When the body reaches a certain point in weight gain (i.e. morbidly obese not just a little fat) then the skin stretches beyond the point of no return. The skin stretches sooo much that it loses the ability to come back to where it was (over-stretched) originally and they now have to do surgery to remove it.

Keep in mind that this only happens at a certain point in weight gain which means HUGE! I think it's at 300 pounds or more for some people.

skin stretches out to accommodate the fat, but it doesn't automatically stretch back if it's been big for a long time.. kind of like elastic in underwear!!
Reply:because they only loose the fat/cellulite and the skin around it has already been stretched from being fat for a long period of time.
Reply:The skin has been stretched out so long by the excess bulk that it does not return to its original shape.
Reply:The skin has taken longer to return to it's normal size then it did to burn the cellulite. This normally only happens when one is very ill and loses a lot of weight very rapidly, loses the weight via an un-healthy method (ie: fasting) or you get liposuction.
Reply:The answers above are generally correct. I would only like to note that skin does not stretch. It actually grows by adding more cells. These cells will have to die off of be destroyed before skin can become smaller.
