How can I prevent my skin from getting more paper thin and easily torn?
I work in a nursing home, and when the residents get skin tears, we give them more protein in their diet. Try adding a peanutbutter sandwich to your diet.
Reply:could be a vitamin deficiency. try taking a multivitamin along with protein in your diet.

Even though I exfoliate regularly, I have a thin, invisible layer of grey clay on my skin.?

When I take a shower or bath (and my skin is fully wet), I am able to scratch the clay off my skin. I assumed it was dirt at first, but I don't live in a high clay area, and I exfoliate and shower regularly, so what is happening?

Even though I exfoliate regularly, I have a thin, invisible layer of grey clay on my skin.?
It is not clay, it is dead skin cells. Perfectly normal. Just wash it off. Nothing to worry about.
Reply:Sounds like dry skin. I would see a dermatologist.
Reply:I don't think it's clay, but dead skin cells. I really don't know since you exfoliate.
Reply:I think that you are over-exfoliating. Doesnt our skin regenerate every 28days or so....
Reply:it's just your dead skin coming off! You don't have "invisible" clay on your skin!!! Every time I think I've heard about the dumbest thing I can, someone comes up with something else!
Reply:Well maybe you have ashy skin, but if you exfoliate you shouldn't have all this extra skin falling off. Try using a lot of cream and oil when you are still wet. I have done that right now and it works. But think about it going to a dermatologist to see if everything is ok with your health. Good luck and good health. Peace
Reply:I don't think that's clay. I think it's just dead skin cells. Our skin is constantly sloughing off dead cells and growing new ones. If the problem doesn't seem severe, I wouldn't worry about it. You might try moisturizing more frequently.

My skin is really dry and thin, what are some inexpensive creams or something I can use?

I can't spend a lot of money on creams, but my legs are really dry and you can almost see the veins through them.

My skin is really dry and thin, what are some inexpensive creams or something I can use?
aloe plant...
Reply:coco butter, you need go to the doctor and get presciption lotion
Reply:use udders cream if you can get hold of it. They'll keep your skin moist and soft. Or try Rosken, very economically priced. Selling in singapore at S$7.60 per 250ml bottle so it should be much cheaper in states.
Reply:Are you sure it is just dryness? One thing that helps is a little humidifyer like you would use when you have a cold. Drink more water. Aloe Vera and patroleum jelly, Aveeno
Reply:Olive oil, aloe vera (grow your own for big savings) and for hands especially in winter try using bag balm. Here's my trick for softening up dry, rough 'winter hands':

- Bag Balm (Walgreens carries it for about $5 a tin)

- A pair of cheap cotton gloves from as garden store.

- Just lather on the bag balm onto the backs of your hands thick around fingers or any dry patches.

- Then put on the gloves overnight. It's like you have a new set of skin the next morning. You can use plastic gloves but I find them too uncomfortable.

The gloves you can buy for $3-5 and you'll only be able to use them for this. Just wash them out in hot soapy water and dry for next time.

Please ignore my bloody blood and don't get under my skin. Thank you.

Would you describe YOUR skin as thick and YOUR blood as thin, or vice-versa?
I don't know but I have too much blood in my alcohol, excuse me.
Reply:I have THICK blood (live in cold northwestern section of Ohio), and THIN skin--(some things annoy me a lot and I lose my cool perhaps a bit too quickly).
Reply:Hi Suzi, My skin is thicker than anything in this world, by that I mean no one and I mean no one can get at me, as all the trash they want to give out just bounces off, I'm like a rhino for example. I took my girlfriend out for dinner while we were staying in England, Now my G/F is Korean and she has the beauty that goes with it. 4 guys thought they would be tough and insult her. one of the guys actually came to our table and asked if she would like a drink, it wasn't until she had enought, then she asked me to deal with it, 2 seconds later he was squealing like a pig as his arm was broke (Ooops he must have slipped), I kicked out the other 3 and dealt with them, not even bring up a sweat. walked back into the restaurant and apologised to the other clients and carried on with our meal. Blood, well that is thick as oil, My family line runs through me and my son, we are both fighters in the business sense as I want my family to continue to live in the way they are used to, not having to bow to anyone. Best wishes. Peter

This stuff is great but a little expensive
Reply:go for glycolic or salysylic skin treatment. eat gandhak rasayan tablets for 6 months.
Reply:Thin lines on an oily face?

(depending on your ages) the thin lines may result from a lack of moisture (water). STOP the HOT water on the face and use cooler water when cleansing, (this will cut down on oil production too). .......Use a "freshener" and then a very-very light moisturizer after cleansing your face. ....You should see improvement within days. The cleansers usually remove the "Oil" however some times they strip the skin of Water also.
Reply:depending on your ages, the thin lines may result from a lack of moisture (water). use water when cleansing daily (4 to 5 times),Use a DXN Soap you should see improvement within days.
Reply:renova--you have to have a prescription though and dab the smallest bit because you will peel. don't use it but like twice a week at most. some people even dab a little on and then wash it off 2 or 3 hrs later instead of leaving it on all night.

When gaging my ears, i did it too fast on one of them and the skin around it is thin. Is healing possible?

I have been waiting for it to heal but have really seen no progress with it getting thicker.

When gaging my ears, i did it too fast on one of them and the skin around it is thin. Is healing possible?
It should heal, or keloid then it will have to be surgically removed. Do you realize that if you gauge them too far they will have to be surgically closed? Going past a 0 or a 00 is very risky. You will have to see a plastic surgeon (most likely not covered by insurence) to cut off and sew your ear back. My sister did the same thing, gauged her ears. She wanted flesh tunnels, now she has flesh tunnels for life unless she goes to the doc.
Reply:when whating your ears???????
Reply:I saw a situation like this where the ear ripped all the way and the guy had it stitched back together and then restretched it... I really don't think it will get any thicker or "heal" in anyway so you may need to get that part cut off.
Reply:It's not going to get any better if you tore the skin badly. I gauged mine to a 0g and had no problems. You can look around on www.bmezine.com for more information. If you click on the ear piercings and go to standard piercings there should be some experiences on the right hand side. Just look around for a while and you might find something useful.
Reply:Neosporin and keep earring out until it is completely healed. You have to pace yourself when you are gaging your flesh or you can have permanent distortion. Peace to you from frogspeaceflower. Uhleesha is right the word is gauging......
Reply:The word is actually "gauging."

How big did you stretch them?

My ears are gauged and I know a lot of people with gauged ears... I have no idea what you're talking about with "thin" skin unless you mean that you've stretched it to 1/2 in. or something.

In any case, every ear is different. Some people will say that 2g is the "point of no return" but (speaking out of experience) I disagree. I've never heard of a person having difficulty healing, however if you're unsure there is a safe route to take.

I think you're trying to keep your ears gauged, and you want to increase sizes, though.

In any case, you should reduce them the same way you gauged them: Use a taper and get halfway to the next size up (this will make your ear vaunerable) then put in a plug that is one gauge down from your current size. You'll notice that your ear will hold on to that plug for dear life. :D

Good luck.
Reply:go to the doctor and let them look at it
Reply:If you have stretched (not gauged) your ears too fast and are showing a thinned spot the best thing to do is to downsize and massage the tissue.

Then after a week or so, stretch back up to the size you were originally at. A week later, downsize again. Another week later ... back to the original size. Repeat as necessary. It may take a while to notice the difference.

Massage the tissue every chance you get. Using emu oil or Vitamin E oil when you massage will help with the oxygen flow to the area and promote tissue growth. Massaging with oils isn't necessary, it may speed things up though.

You aren't the first one this has happened to and I am sure you won't be the last. :)

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Define thin skinned?????

10 points to the one who can most accurately describe what a thin skinned person is

Define thin skinned?????
Someone who is very easily offended. Someone who you have to be careful of everything you say or do or else they will whine that you have been "mean" to them. Someone who will call in the PC cops because you said something that hurt their feelings. An easier description is a Liberal. Keep your eyes open for these people, they are the ones that cry the loudest when it affects them, but for some reason don't think the same "rules" apply to them. They are easy to spot.
Reply:A person that takes offense at any negative comment (and some not so negative) spoken to them.

Thin-Skinned???

What does it mean to be thin-skinned?? Someone called me that, and I need to know what it means.

Thin-Skinned???
it means that you are extra-sensitive to criticism and your feelings get hurt easily. You are easily offended. There is nothing wrong with that. I am very sensitive. Sometimes it can work to your disadvantage... because we have a harder time letting comments made go. But being thin-skinned is also a good quality to have.... unlike being thick-skinned, we have the innate ability to feel how others would feel and we are empathetic people... we feel the hurts of others. We carefully think through things before we say or do things, in the hopes of not offending or hurting others by our words or actions. That is a good quality to have.
Reply:It means that you take everything seriously instead of not letting it get to you. Your feelings get hurt easily.
Reply:It means that you get your feelings hurt easily. They think you need to let things go instead of letting them hurt you. There is nothing wrong with being thin-skinned, as many people are.
Reply:It means you are sensitive, most likely to words.

Thin Skinned?

As a result of another member on this site posting a question asking if atheists had a better sense of humor than religious fundamentalists, I decided to put that idea to the test. I posted the "Allah %26amp; Jesus" question about a fictional boxing match between them then later posted "Allah %26amp; Jesus Part Two" because of the various witty responses to that post.

Two religious people did not see the humor in this. They were offended to the point where they had both posts deleted. I was not angry or hurt by this action. I was surprised by it.

As a result of this action, I've come to the conclusion that perhaps the original post was correct. Atheist DO have a substancially better sense of humor. They can see the satire and irony in it all. Religious fundamentalists are another story. Given that they had my posts deleted, would you not agree that they have little or no sense of humor and are very thin skinned?

Your thoughts? And as before, humor is always welcome!

Thin Skinned?
eggplant.

Okay, sorry. I stole that from devlsadvocat, who is an atheist and who andswered a very long and involved question that way. I thought it was hysterical.

Yes, I do think atheists generally have better senses of humor about God because they are not afraid of blaspheming. I'm not atheist, but I'm also not uptight about things religious, so I find the atheists much funnier. Irreverance is funny. It just is.

Or, eggplant.
Reply:FUNDIES ARE NOT FUN!
Reply:As an atheist, I don't believe there is a god.

...but...

As a free-thinker, I have to acknowledge the *possibility* that I may be wrong.

...so...

As a sarcastic b*tch, I have to *HOPE* god has a sense of humor!
Reply:A sense of humor is completely subjective and what is funny to one person is offensive to another. Perhaps the Christians do not think hostility and mockery is funny. There was once a thing in society called TACT.
Reply:I agree. I had two of my questions removed yesterday because some prude don't like my avatar.
Reply:How's this.

God and the Devil were having this discussion when God says I've had this idea to give my people the gift of spirituality.

The devil responded, God, what a terrific idea. I'll organize it for you and call it religion.

Religious fundamentalist and humor seems to be an oxymoron to me.
Reply:I think your premise is not proven by either of your questions. If you wanted to see whether or not atheists have thin skins, you needed to insult them, too. Instead, you only insulted the religious folks.

Read the answers I got to this question to see how thin skinned atheists really are:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Peace.
Reply:Just to defend the Xians, I did see one tell a joke. Once. It was kind of funny too. It was pro religion, but other than that I have never seen anything that could be construed as a sense of humor.
Reply:Interesting experiment.

But have you considered the fact that you are making fun of someone we love. Now imagine that I said pippy poo's mother is into beastiallity, and half the people at this site were trying to convince the other half that your mom has intercourse with horses.

I tried to remain humerous. But there is a very serious point to why we might become more offended than athiest.
Reply:You were intentionally insulting to Christians ! We have a right to object, if we were Muslims you would be being threatened.
Reply:Sounds to me like Yahoo is one of those fundamentalists by deleting your post. They are as bad as everyone else trying to suppress freedom of speech. Now I know this isn't covered under the constitution's first amendment, but for goodness sake some people are way to easily offended. If you don't like what is being said I've got a clue for you........"BACK BUTTON".

I had the word (p.u.s.s.y.) blocked out when it was being used in the proper context in substitution for cat. How is that profanity?
Reply:Humor can be used for a serious question, or answer. Unfortunately, I have (as long as I can remember) not been one of those people blessed with that talent. (What I find humorous, many others did not; therefore I have tended to be serious minded, although I enjoy a good laugh like anybody. (I do not recall the wording of it but; humor is good for the bones (per the Bible).

A thin slice of potato with skin is put in water. what's the shape of slice after a couple of hours?
Get a potato and try it. After two hours you could have had your answer. As it is, this question was posted 12 hours ago, and this is the first response.

I can tell you this though. It depends on the water. Is it distilled water, hard water, or ??? Plants will react differently depending on the concentration of compounds in the water.

Why so thin skinned?

Why are Bushies so thin skinned about critisism of ole G'Dub? The overwhelming majority of America thinks he's ballzed up the country (Presidents have little to do with the economy, that includes Clinton) as a whole and our military specifically along with so many other things.

Ya'll just don't seem to be able to deal with the fact that he's blown it and America has, finally, woken up. Why can't you handle the truth about him? Why so thin skinned?

Why so thin skinned?
I will give credit to republicans for one thing, their ability to stick together. It is also the cause of their downfall for insisting on backing a failed leadership. Their apparent lack of ability to think for themselves and see reality for what it really is never ceases to amaze me, talk about herd mentality. What I also find amazing is how they constantly whine about disrespecting our President, yet have absolutely no qualms about bashing Clinton. I have to presume he wasn't their President.

OK all the south hated him so that is 40% and all the Northern Democrats ran McClellan against Him. so that leaves him 30 Percent overall left, then the republican party believed he had No chance and fronted several Others Instead of Him for the second term. so figure he had 20% just before Getttysburg. Even after that they did not want to have him at Gettysburgs dedication because he was well hated. Based on all that I would have given him around 18% just before Gettysburg. Also throw in the Fact that NJ voted against Him and New york Practically went to war against Him.

well No Polls to speak of or that I have found as of yet. I think History backs me up though....
Reply:You must be new to the political arena because there are people in both parties that have this problem. You are right about the economy but when the economy is good the party that is in power jumps right in and takes credit and how many times have the candidates used the economy as a part of their campaign. We have been conditioned to win at every thing we do and just as we stick with our favorite team win or lose we do the same with our political party.

What layer is present in thick skin but not in thin?

Stratum lucidum

What layer is present in thick skin but not in thin?
Fat?
Reply:Fat (adipose tissue) is correct, but:

"The terms thin skin and thick skin refer to the epidermis only and not to the total thickness of the skin. "

"Thick skin (of the palms and soles) is hairless, lacks pigment and is sometimes described as glabrous. Thin skin, in contrast, has hair, sebaceous glands and is pigmented. "

Fat people have more skin. So, why are thin people called "skinny"?

Fat people don't have more skin. The act of gaining weight doesn't produce more skin.

----------------------------

Response to eve-in-BKK-not-thai:

Fat people do NOT have more skin, anyone who thinks so is just ignorant of biology. Once you reach adulthood, you have the same amount of skin and fat cells for the rest of your life. Fat cells are repositories for storing fat, as that’s what their purpose is. Fat itself is just simply a stored form of energy. When a person gains weight they don’t produce more fat cells, however, their existing fat cells grow larger as they store more and more fat.

When you lose weight, the process reverses itself. The body removes fat from its fat cells and uses it as energy and the fat cells shrink in the process; however, they don’t go away. They’re still there; they’re just smaller because they’re not holding as much fat.

Skin is malleable and can be stretched, which is why when someone who is very obese and then loses weight, their skin may become loose, giving the appearance of more skin, however, the act of gaining weight didn't produce more skin. They still have the same amount they had when they reached adulthood.

The only way you can actually lose fat cells, and not just fat itself, is by liposuction, as liposuction removes the actual fat cells and not just the fat they contain.

Fat people have more skin. So, why are thin people called "skinny"?
Didn't answer the question in the slightest. Report It

Reply:Dear, fat people have more skin and fat (flesh)- a lot. Thin people have skin and fat - very little, maybe they only have skin left, that's why thin people are called "skinny" -- only skin wraps their bodies
Reply:I think it is because skin is thin.
Reply:Appropriate nowadays as thin ( hence skin ) is in.
Reply:ever heard about the say "only skin and bones"? wall, it exist, at least in romania :)

so that's why i think that thin peoples are called skinny
Reply:its just a grammatical error...
Reply:Because fer thin people, without much flesh, all it's left to hold them is just their skin
Reply:thin pple are called skinny because their bone structure tends to show through the skin.fat pple don't have more skin, they have alot of meat/fat in their bodies unlike slim pple who have heavy bones.
Reply:ic wat u mean..fat ppl r bigger n there4 more skin is needed 2 cover them..but in actual fact u dont grow skin u expand them..dats y when a person looses weight u can c d extra skin hanging..on the question, they r called dat way bcuz dats all they have...unlike fat ppl who have fat u call them fatty.....no offence 2 anybody.
Reply:Maybe because thin people have less fat. You can see more of the skin and less of the fat. Isn't that self-explanatory?

Everyone has skin.So why are thin people called "skinny"?

To me,so-called "skinny people" are just those without

an excess of stored fat and cellulite. So who came up with

the term "skinny"?What would you call them?

Everyone has skin.So why are thin people called "skinny"?
Skinny means - resembling skin - in other words, they look like they are all skin - and no stored fat or cellulite, as you said.
Reply:Cause they're "skin and bones"
Reply:it's because below the skin is nothing.. just bones..

below fat people's skin there is fat
Reply:Shortened form of "skin and bones"
Reply:good question.
Reply:coz under the skin they got no fat... just skin and bones
Reply:I guess its because they are all "skin" and bone. Like wise "fatty" is cos they are predominantly fat.
Reply:idk it sounds good. who cares?? just call them thin
Reply:skinny is short for skin and bones
Reply:that's a good question u could call them bony but that would be the same thing as skinny cuz everyone has bones, i can't think of anything
Reply:Yes, everyone does have skin but maybe it is because they have a lot less skin than the larger people?!?!
Reply:it has no fat so it is mostly skin
Reply:By that reasoning you should also question why overweight people are called 'fat'. Everyone has fat also. Skinny is just a word that is used. I think skinny came from the term skin and bones. That is the word I use to describe people who are too thin.
Reply:They are all praises, and just to help a person to describe another person.

I.E. short, fat, thin, tall
Reply:They only have skin. No fat. hence, the name, skinny.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off. Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

To hide dark circles, you can use YSL concealer or salmon concealer.

Why are my breasts so soft and the skin on my breast so thin?

I am only 21. I am NOT overweight. What can i do to make them harder and the skin thicker?

Why are my breasts so soft and the skin on my breast so thin?
The only time breasts are hard is when they are fake. They are not supposed to be hard and thick skinned. They don't need to be. Only your body parts that are used all the time (hands, feet) need to have a thick strong skin.

My guess is you want them to be firmer, as in not sagging down to your waist. Well, honey...there is nothing you can do about that, except buy a well supporting bra.
Reply:I don't understand why you would want to. I bet they are perfect just the way they are.

Reply:Breasts are not muscles, but they are supported by muscles...and if there is no muscle tone in the supports, then the breasts have little support and are soft and flabby.

When I was bodybuilding, I had real firm shapely breasts...now I am a bit lazier, they are not as good, but, every so often I get enthusiastic and go to a gym and work out hard, and they firm up immediately.

What you do is build and tone the muscles that support the breast, and thats what makes the breasts firmer. Swimming is also a great exercise, and any gym can give you the right exercises to do.

So go do exercises and I will guarantee you firmer breasts in as soon as 3 months, and they will get firmer still in 6 months.

Then you have to keep up the exercises to maintain them.

So go try and see for yourself..
Reply:well since you are only 21 they are called "saggers", when you are 31 they will be called "super saggers", when you are 41 they will be called nasty.

geeze that's a shame, most women don't have your symptoms until long after there children are born and done feeding.....
Reply:Your Brest should be firm and soft all at the same time. They should not be rock hard. There are exercises u can do to lift and firm them. U need not spend the $ to join a gym. Get 2 cans of soup (what ever U want) of equal weight. Lay on the floor. Put your arms out like a cross. Lift both arms at the same time toward the ceiling and back again to the floor. Start out maybe 15 times and keep raising the # over time. Its works similar to ISOMETRICS. Once you feel confident you can find a new place to lay, a bit elevated off the floor. When you do the exercises, allow your arms to fall a bit below your body. This will also increase your flexibility. Good luck.

When i pull my foreskin there is a thin bit off tough skin connecting the head of my penis to my foreskin.?

What is this, and is it normal?

When i pull my foreskin there is a thin bit off tough skin connecting the head of my penis to my foreskin.?
What you describe seems to be the frenulum, which basically tethers your foreskin to the glans (penis head). It's perfectly normal and is a source of pleasure and sensitivity in many guys (see link for more details).
Reply:James you probably need to be circumcised..................
Reply:Does it look like this? http://halfclip.dyndns.info/frenulum/ind...

You do NOT need to get circumcised! That is idiotic.
Reply:dont listen to i love k

everyone has it i cant pull my forskin back because it hurts but i'm only 14. you dont need to be circumcised, aparently later on in life the helmet of the forskin tares off slowly, aparently totaly natural.

Does your skin tan better through a thin layer of water?

Does your skin tan better if you have water on it? i.e when coming out of the water and you sun bake, does your skin tan better then just sitting in the sun on any normal day???? Or does your skin tan better if you are swimming and lightly covered in water.

Does your skin tan better through a thin layer of water?
It tans at the same rate. However being in the water can alleviate some of the 'heat' you usually get from sunbathing.

Please don't use baby oil or any oil in your skin. Think of a roast in the oven, you put oil and salt on it to make the skin crackle. You don't want to do that to your skin even mildly.

I wouldn't suggest going out specifically to tan at all. Some sun is good but too much can kill.
Reply:The skin tans better if you are doing something, not just laying there, cause the tan is not going to be even. Try playing beach volleyball, or swimming...the water doesn't matter, really, but it feels nice as the sun dries it off!. Try baby oil, is the most effective tanner!

How does it feel to get a tattoo on your inner wrist? im kinda scared 2 get one because the skin is so thin?

The tattoo I got on my inner wrist hurt, but not terribly much. The only bad part was when the needle crossed the tendon/ligament on the wrist (if you bend your hand in toward your wrist, it should be very visible). That part hurt pretty badly, but it didn't last long. I've never been tattooed on another part of my body, though, so I don't know if it hurts more or less than other places.

How does it feel to get a tattoo on your inner wrist? im kinda scared 2 get one because the skin is so thin?
it depends on the size/how many colors/detail. i have a small star on my inner wrist, it took about two minutes, if that, to finish. those were a very painful two minutes, almost extreme burning, but i think it was worth it. of course its going to hurt, but if you're definitely sure you want one there, go for it =)

and i dont regret mine at all. tattoos on wrists can be easily hidden.
Reply:I have one on my wrist and one on my back shoulder blade. The one on my wrist hurt more because the skin there is less fatty. But the pain was bearable. All depends on your pain tolerance though.
Reply:If you really want and love the tattoo go for the tattoo, go for it, don't worry about the pain. Once the tattoo is there, it is there, and in the end it's all worth it.

If it means a lot to you to get a tattoo and that's the spot you want it on, pain shouldn't really stop you.

And, you'll probably end up getting it anyway right? No matter if people say it hurts or not hurts.
Reply:wrist has some fleshyness to it, i got one on my inner ankle, ya know right over the bone...ouchie, and on both of my collar bones...i don't think there are too many other places that would hurt more
Reply:my friend just got one on her wrist. and its pretty big. she is a totally baby about pain and it didnt hurt her at all.
Reply:Of my five tattoos, my wrist hurt the third most. My ribs were the most painful and foot was still worse than the wrist (because it is bigger and has more detail).

Just remember to keep a wrist tattoo small and you will be fine.
Reply:i wont even lie tattoos dont hurt im 16 juss got mine and i think u will do juss fine the chest is prolly the worst soo sense ur not getting it there ur fine its a little sting then u go numb suprising how easy a tattoo is after the tattoo ur gonna be sore as hell that hurts the worse

What to u do when u have a bubble from a burn that is on top layer of ur skin which is thin?

can u pop it or just keep putting burn lotion on???

What to u do when u have a bubble from a burn that is on top layer of ur skin which is thin?
Leave it alone. The bubble would pop on its own in a few days. Poping it now would just allow an infection to occur.
Reply:leave it alone!! put triple antibiotic ointment on it and a loose gause to keep out infection. When I was 8 my sister convinced me to put a bandaid on it. BIG MISTAKE. I still have a scar on my hand!
Reply:its most likely a blister. if you pop it it could get infected, so put on some burn lotion and then wrap it up with gauze.
Reply:You could bust it with a sterile needle and then put neosporin on it
Reply:left it alone. keep it dry.

if it got burst, then cut away the skin before it can trap dirt and infect the wound

Romney and Obama too thin-skinned?

Romney gets his feelings hurt easily, and Obama is not comfortable in the attack. How can either one of these candidates be President if they have such thin skin?

I'd rather stick with McCain or Clinton. At least they can handle the job.

Romney and Obama too thin-skinned?
I agree that our next President needs to be tough. The election in November will be brutal, but that's nothing compared to what foreign dictators and nut-job terrorists might try to bring. I want somebody who's stood up to attacks before. I think it's obvious to everyone that McCain and Hillary fit that profile.
Reply:You really don't need a Rottweiler to secure the back yard.
Reply:mccain will fly off the handle at a moments notice, and he is unpredictable. Hillary is just a psycho *****.
Reply:Maybe. Are you suggesting it would be ugly if they were hemophiliacs?
Reply:I like McCain, but in the last debate he seemed more thin-skinned. Wasn't it Hillary that cried? Obama comes off as weak because he tries hard not to attack (not to say he never attacks, but he tries not to). It's part of the new type of politics that he is trying to advance.
Reply:McCain and Hillary have been "handling" their jobs in the senate and other gov. positions for the past 20 years. has either one secured our borders?
Reply:That's probably going to be the ticket and for the reasons you just mentioned.
Reply:I agree, the ole stop picking on me line is pathetic, and both like to play that game. Political correctness is evil.
Reply:You think Romney's too thin-skinned?

John McCain sputters every time he's questioned (not asked, but questioned) about his voting record. Every debate, the second it seems like someone's going after him even a little bit, his face goes red and his voice starts to crackle.
Reply:Obama isn't "thin-skinned," when has he shown this?

True he is just a naturally nice guy, but after seeing what happened to Kerry I believe he will do whatever it takes to defeat the Repugs in the general election, knocking down their scumbag swiftboat-type lies with a vengeance

BARACK THE VOTE!!
Reply:Obama is not comfortable on the attack? When he attacks it is more like stating the truth. Because he is stating the facts without manipulating them.

The Clinton's on the other hand have to manipulate the facts due to their dishonest habits.
Reply:Give McCain a couple months, he's going to blow his stack on national TV. We'll all see him explode.

Romney doesn't get his "feelings hurt", he's sticking up for himself because McCain's been lying about him.

He's had to fight the Republican establishment from the beginning because they don't care about the party only themselves. They're probably all afraid they'll lose their jobs.

I'm supporting Romney 'til the end. If his name is not on my ballot in November, I will be writing it in. As a conservative republican, I will not support McCain.

In groin area dark, dust like coming, color changing, but no itching. if wet, skin also become thin, jockitc

Do you have stinging pains? If you do, it might be STD of some sort. But don't worry, I'm just giving you the worse case scenario.

But if there's no pain, just irritations, then it might be fungal infection. Dark area means it's inflamed. Fungal infection looks a lot like jock itch. If you don't treat it soon, it can blister and that's irritating.

Use Hydrozole cream and continue using it up til one or two week after the infection clears. however I think hydrozole is prescription only medication. Go to your doctor to have it checked if you really want to be sure.

Is there a way to reverse the thinning of the skin?

I have eczema and I have to use steroid creams to treat it. One of the side effects of steroid creams is thinning of the skin. I have very thin skin on both of my inner thighs which looks similar to stretch marks but with winkles. I haven't been to my dermatologist since I was told of this bad news due to not having insurance. My question is :

Is there a way to reverse the thinning of the skin to get it back to normal like the rest of my skin?

Is there such as thin and thick skins about chihuahua?

The large size of chihuahua have thick skins. The small size of chihuahua have thin skin. Also large, thick skinned ones are sweet

and have very much tolerance or maybe infinitly tolerate with other people. They are comfortable, not dangerous. Small, thin skinned ones are nervous, maybe fiece, and only little tolerance with other people. They are not comforable, dangerous. Both of them are the same in both apple head and deer head, no difference.

Is there such as thin and thick skins about chihuahua?
First of all, are you talking about long haired vs short haired??? I have a long haired Chi who is five pounds and is the nicest dog ever. She is great with babies, toddlers and all adults. Any dog can be mean, it's all up to the owner how he/she raises that dog. So if you're a nice person who is good to your dog and socializes him/her well, you'll have a great dog. But if your an asshole chances are so will your dog. It's all up to you!
Reply:You should be asking this in pets. My daughter has a mix, which is fine. I've seen some tea-cups who were vicious. I think in-breeding is the problem, but then, I'm not a big fan of small dogs. There are exeptions to every rule.
Reply:I know there are Apple head (they are usually thin skinned and very nervous.) Deer head do have a thicker skin, but in my experience are cranky and tend to bite more often. We had a deer head when I was growing up and my Grandma had an Apple head. Personal experience!

Retin-a micro thins skin?

What does this mean? Im on retin-a micro and people say that it will make your skin thin? Im just trying to understand if this is a bad thing or a good thing? Acne blows, but the only way to get rid of it is by a topical, so either way your skin is gonna thin out...

Retin-a micro thins skin?
Our skin is made up of many layers of cells. Retin can cause flaking, redness, peeling - because one way it works is to increase the turnover of the skin cells - to help reveal the good skin beneath the outer old layer of skin.

Looking at it this way - it does make your skin "thin". It also makes you more sensitive to sunlight, and your skin turns red, peels more easily if you are exposed to strong sunlight or stayed too long in the sunlight.

Good or Bad?

It's bad when you start to have redness or flaking skin all over your face, making your acne look worse, but the good side of it is, it goes away after you stop using the medication for a while, or reduce the frequency of application.

Good luck in your acne cure. I've severe acne and am using a combination of BHA, AHA and benzoyl peroxide to control it, after having tried out retinoids and found out that my skin can't take it - my skin peels terribly and my face became red as a tomato each time I applied it.
Reply:Retin a will not thin the skin. Steroids are about the only topical known to thin the skin. It will dry your skin out and make it peel.

How can you treat a burn to upper layer of skin that is thin and is it dangerous??

I think it depends on how large it is but it sounds like a minor burn which is not spreadable nor dangerous to the rest of your skin. Try using neosporin to keep the wound clean. It might bubble up and burn a bit but I wouldn't worry if its only the thin top layer. Keep in mind that our body will tell us if the wound needs medical attention, if so, contact your doctor. Hope this helps:-) Oh! and an old wives tale remedy "rubbing it with butter."

Thin skinned?

The skin on my arms is getting thin, so that I get scratched more easily by my cat. Any suggestions on what foods I should eat or what creams I should apply to thicken the skin?

Use some of those hand and body lotions you've received as gifts, and apply it to your arms every day. You'll be very pleasantly surprised!

Thinning skin on wife's wrist due to cortisone injection 16 months ago. A wrist watch tears skin. Any help?

The doctor said the cortisone would thin the skin but she didn't know it would be this severe. A gentle bump will tear the skin. She'll go to dermatologist if there is really anything that will help. Or have others found anything that will reduce the skin tears?

Thinning skin on wife's wrist due to cortisone injection 16 months ago. A wrist watch tears skin. Any help?
unfortunately, cortisone does thin skin out and there's little you can do about it.

All your wife can do is take extra care with her wrist, avoid wearing jewellery there and try not to use sticking plasters or anything similar as removing them can take the skin away at the same time. Also, inform any doctors etc in the future that your wife has 'tissue paper skin' and let them know they need to take care when handling her, my grandmother has a similar condition brought on by years of steroid taking for her arthritus, recently she went for a hip operation and some stupid person in theatres threw her around on the bed and ripped a 2 foot long gash in her thigh just by knocking her agaisnt a cot side. (we are suing the hospital as we did warn them)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news....

Why is it that Mormons skin is so thin......?

I mean, they talk smack about my religion daily and yet the minute I ask a question about theirs....look out...it's hell fire and damnation.

oh boy, here I go again. They are going to be all over this...

Why is it that Mormons skin is so thin......?
it really, honestly isn't just the Mormons.

this should show us all that we each have our own faith. is it better that we honor another person's faith or attack it? what are the benefits of honoring another person's faith? what are the benefits of attacking it?

perhaps this will give you a chance to really think about how you ask questions. i don't know. i just think it is alot easier for everyone if we all play nice.
Reply:Maybe it was HOW you asked your question not the question itself. Just something to think about.
Reply:I am LDS. I didn't see your question, so it isn't fair of me to speculate on how that played out.

I'm sorry that you have had some bad experiences with other LDS. I have to say that no group of people in any belief system is perfect. Every group has their nice people and their rude people. I'm not one for "talking smack" about any religion. I'm sorry that you've had this done to you before. I can relate to what you are saying.

I think there's good in everyone. It's not always easy to see at first, though, and it's not always easy to stay patient with other people.

Have a nice night.
Reply:I'm LDS and i have to say that there is a saying that is said in our Church a lot that the Church is true, some of the members aren't. I don't think that it's fair for you to judge everyone so harshly, I'm sorry you have had some bad run ins. post your question you could be surprised.
Reply:They can dish it but they can't take it.
Reply:they are the poke-d-ing spellers on to them and on to others. Yeah , yeah , the winning games to be the WASTE .
Reply:Mormonism has historically been under the microscope ever since J Smith announced he found gold plates (He didn't mention the 'vision' until many years later), and the doctrine has been picked apart by scholars, scientists, and even Mark Twain. So, naturally, proponents of the church tend to be a bit testy about criticism of their church, and take it personally.

It's part of the culture within the church to demonstrate that they are the possessors of the only complete truth, and the rest of the world is gravely mislead. This leads some younger members to act like they're in an exclusive country club, and "nanner nanner" to you. Hopefully these kids will grow up and will stop alienating people.

Take it with a grain of salt. There's more important things to worry about.
Reply:Maybe we just get tired of being bashed all the time... there are so many misconceptions about the church, it's just hard to always let things "roll off" our shoulders, we are humans too.

We are constantly told we are "going to hell" by other's because of our beliefs...which really, no one has the authority or right to tell another where they are going when they die. We are not the judge here or in the next life.

Sorry you were mistreated.

What could this be? On the inside of my right eyelid, this thin layer of skin keeps coming back and I peel it?

What the heck could be causing this? It truly makes my vision blurry and I keep peeling it off. Am I possibly going blind?

What could this be? On the inside of my right eyelid, this thin layer of skin keeps coming back and I peel it?
Why are you asking this question on-line??? Get to a doctor and FAST!!!
Reply:My daughter had an infection on the inside of her eyelid, but I was under the impression that her contact lenses caused it. It sounds like you don't wear contacts, so-o-o-o, didn't the doctor give you a prescription or tell you what to do?
Reply:first stop peeling it! that could be making it worse. Next go to your optomitrist immediately. they can refer you to a specialist if they can not help it heal.

Why do some white women think that people find their pale colorless skin and extremely thin lips beautiful...?

Most men don't and I sure in the hell don't...I want big lips to kiss on and white women don't have any lips. I'm attracted to round behinds and brown skin and white women don't have either of those , so I date mainly black women and puerto rican women because I get all those qualities in one package....

I chose to broaden my herizons and go for the more exotic.

I've never broken out like this before. I am using this cetaphil generic target brand facial cleanser for my face, I wash my face once a day. I don't put any moisturizer on and I need help. I don't want to dry my face out, but I keep getting pimples under my nose and under my chin that never go away, and my face now. Help!

PIMPLES

Pimples is a unique skin disorder.Pimples are lesions that occur when the skin’s pores are obstructed or infected. They can form for a variety of reasons. However, the mechanism involved in causing some pores to collapse and block drainage of natural oils is not really understood. Pimples may also crop up for genetic reasons. It is not clear how it can be inherited from one’s parents, but studies do indicate a high occurrence of pimples in children whose parents had it,too.

The pimples associated with adolescence almost certainly occur because of hormonal changes that take place during puberty. Both males and females get an overdose of the male hormone testosterone during this period, causing excessive generation of sebaceous fluids that invariably cause pimples.

GIVEN BELOW ARE A FEW SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES TO FIGHT PIMPLES.

1.The most basic form of pimple prevention is hygiene and preventive skin care. Regular washing of the affected areas with mild soap is a must. The soap need not necessarily contain any chemicals designed to prevent pimples .However, face washing should not be overdone or the skin will become dehydrated .

2.Care should be taken on makeup, moisturizers and other skin care products. If these products are oil based,it would just make the problem worse. Use water based products instead.

3.Generally we rub, press or squeeze our pimples.Don’t when we do this,we risk spreading the bacteria to other areas.

4.Lemon juice diluted in water can be applied externally because of its antiseptic

quality.

5.Tea Tree oil can also be applied directly to infected pores.

6.Vitamin A tablets are also a natural and effective cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.

7.Before bathing, apply a mixture of fresh tomato pulp, honey and rose-water to your face and keep for twenty minutes before washing off.

8.Juice of raw papaya is the best treatment for pimples.Apply fresh juice of raw papaya on pimples and get a good result.

9.Directly rub potato slices all over the face, helps to get rid of blemishes and

pimple scar.

10.Drink plenty of water and vegetable or fruit juices.

11.Use cucumber or other fruit and vegetable packs to cure pimple scars.

12.Maintain a diet that is rich in cottage cheese, salads, fresh juices, fish and

yogurt. These help to cleanse your system and ward off pimples.

13.Another overnight home remedy for pimples is to put a dab of toothpaste on it to help dry it out. Calamine lotion also will have the same drying effect.

14.Pound orange peel with water and apply to affected areas.

15.Another useful remedy for pimples is zinc. Which can be taken in a dose of 50 mg daily for a month and then reduce the dose.

16.You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as an overnight home pimple remedy.

17.Aspirin contains Beta hydroxy acid which is a powerful defoliant ,so you can crush 1to 2 Aspirin tablets mix with a little water and apply on pimples for 15 minutes and wash.

Finally, certain medications may temporarily alter the hormonal changes prevalent during adolescence and cause pimple outbreaks. If this is the case, a simple adjustment in medication may be all that is required.
Reply:Have you tried clearsil???
Reply:Hmm are you stressed out at all? Using any new products (including new laundry detergent, fabric softener, etc.)? Have you recently gone on a multivitamin/supplements--that did it to me. I'd buy an acne spot treatment like Oxy ($5). If I were you, and this persists, i'd see a dermatologist--adult acne can be caused by different reasons than teenage acne, and often the same treatments don't work. I'd switch to a better cleanser and start moisturizing with a light/oil-free one with SPF.

I squeezed my skin, and it was dry, so a thin top layer of skin came off. Now the area is red. Help?

I was sorta scratching my face, not paying attention. My skin was dry and some skin peeled off. It left a fairly big red mark that looks kinda like a burn. It hurts. Do you think it will scar? Will Neosporin help?

I squeezed my skin, and it was dry, so a thin top layer of skin came off. Now the area is red. Help?
You could use neosporin, but don't mess with the area. That way it will heal with no scarring. Alot of the redness should be gone by morning.
Reply:yes, neosporin will help. keep it in open air and it will heal faster. I dont think it will scar since its just the top layer of skin that would shed away anyway naturally
Reply:For dry skin, use a creamy cleanser to melt away dirt. Leave it on your skin before sweeping it away with cotton wool. Splash cold water onto your face to clean and refresh your skin. Use a thick cream moisturizer to seal in as much moisture as possible and have a refreshing feel.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...

Only answer this if you have a tattoo on your ribcage AND inner arm or another area where the skin is thin?

i have a half sleeve and i was wondering if the ribcage would hurt as much as getting my inner arm done. my inner arm hurt like hell.

Only answer this if you have a tattoo on your ribcage AND inner arm or another area where the skin is thin?
well think about it. you have a organs underneath your ribcage. yes it will
Reply:It is painful, but does not hurt for me. If you thought that the inner arm hurt, then this will hurt a lot. I had the inner arm done and liked the feeling, same with every other part I've gotten tattoo-ed.
Reply:It seems to hurt twice as bad! All depending if you have thick or thin skin around your ribs! When the needles go over the ribs, it seems to vibrate or whatever and it hurts!

But if you have a high pain tolerance..you might be ok! LOL
Reply:the ribcage is supposed to be one of, if not THE most painful place on your body to tattoo
Reply:Yea ribcage is sensitive! One of my tattoos is on my foot and it hurt really bad. Rib's and feet are probably the worst places to get them. But if you take the pain it's totally worth it in the long run. Most tattoo places also have numbing cream now. I didnt have it for mine but it really would have helped!
Reply:i have tats on the tops of my feet, which is kinda like the ribcage- in that it is sensitive and thin skinned, but from friends with ribcage tattoos i hear that it hurts like hell! if you've got a little chub over the ribs i hear it helps, but if you're skin and bones, you're screwed. good luck!
Reply:yes, however, it all depends on your pain tolerance. if your inner arm hurt like hell, them your ribcage will as well.

all i can suggest is that when you go in, get as relaxed as possible because you will in a uncomfortable spot for a while.
Reply:I thought so too. My inner arm tattoo was very unpleasant. Rib area work was worse for me, much worse. It bites and never seems to loosen up. Although painful, I still think it was worth it.

Does the thin piece of skin break on the head of the penis?

I’m not sure what you referred with “the thin piece of skin” you mentioned.

If it’s the foreskin -know that- it won’t break because its task just is to move to and fro uncovering the head. In the case, you said that because your foreskin is too tight around head and you even feel pain moving it, then you have a common syndrome called “Phimosis”, easy to heal anyway.

OK?

Just how thin is the skin of Y!A users in the Elections section?
Not thin at all. Just getting pissed off that there are no questions that doesn't have an insult thrown in.
Reply:Pretty thin indeed, just try to ask or answer anything that is contrary to their political stance
Reply:Seems to be a lot of hate. I think its primarily teenage rebellion.
Reply:As thin as Obama's plan.
Reply:As thick as Bush's head.
Reply:Sometimes it is not thin skin it is an inability to use logic and reasoning. Sometimes the Obama supporters come across as having thin skin but it is really a lack of intelligence to use logic so they resort to emotions and this comes across as being thin skinned when it is really just a low IQ issue not a thin skin issue.
Reply:Even with a relatively 'neutral' question such as yours, people just can't resist to throw a 'dig' at whatever political affiliation is not theirs.... so sad and incredibly exhausting!
Reply:Some people get real angry on here, I`m voting for what I believe in, I try not to answer some of the ugly questions.

But you`re right it does get pretty thin.

A thin veil of skin on a new born babies face is said to have a meaning, can anyone enlighten me.?

In medieval times the appearance of a caul on a newborn baby was seen as a sign of good luck. It was considered an omen that the child was destined for greatness. Gathering the caul onto paper was considered an important tradition of childbirth: the midwife would rub a sheet of paper across the baby's head and face, pressing the material of the caul onto the paper. The caul would then be presented to the mother, to be kept as an heirloom.

Over the course of European history, a popular legend developed suggesting that possession of a baby's caul would give its bearer good luck and protect that person from death by drowning. Cauls were therefore highly prized by sailors. Medieval women often sold these cauls to sailors for large sums of money; a caul was regarded as a valuable talisman.

A thin veil of skin on a new born babies face is said to have a meaning, can anyone enlighten me.?
i know its meant to be lucky and bring the baby good luck throughout its life, its something to do with witches
Reply:The remains of a broken contraceptive?
Reply:In bygone times, a baby born with a cowl around it was said to have good fortune, and be wise. Many women who were used as midwives were also medicine women, who would make all sorts of brews of nasty concoctions which were given to the sick and afflicted, probably some did work, others would not, so these women were seen as sort of witches, the information about babies being born with cowls would have come from them, and is as likely to be as lucky as one of their potions would be to actually work. An old wives tale with no proven scientific fact to it. Saying that, many people who have made good fortune one way or another in life, were apparently born with a cowl. Then again, many weren't. But that is where it comes from.
Reply:In medieval times it was considered good luck. The silky membrane was often pressed onto a piece of paper and presented to the mother as a good luck charm.

In the psychic world, it is more often regarded as a “veil”. And a baby born with a veil is destined for great things.

Having been born with a veil is a sign of psychic abilities, good luck or a special destiny.
Reply:it is called a caul, and considered too mean the gift of second sight, it used to considered very lucky if the captain of a ship could procur one as it would be good luck to the vogage.
Reply:its a cowl ( spelling may not be right ) but is very lucky .
Reply:hi i was always given to understand as told by my gran that if a baby was born with a caul the child would never drown, and that sailors would buy them as a good luck charm to keep them safe at sea.

What are the side effects of light activated systems on hair removal? will it cause the skin to thin like IPL?

Laser hair removal is FDA approved. Working with small areas of the skin, the laser beam destroys hair follicles and impairs hair regrowth. There is less pain and it is less time-consuming compared to electrolysis, but there can be redness or pigmentation changes of the skin. Laser treatment works best on people with light-skin and dark hair. In addition, laser treatment will not work on deeply embedded hair follicles such as the underarm or the bikini line. A licensed professional should perform laser hair removal. Laser is very expensive and multiple treatments are necessary. The estimated cost for completed treatment is $$500-1,000 for facial hair removal and $2,000-$3,000 for legs. Results are long lasting, but some hair may grow back. If hair grows back, it is sparse and finer.

Sally Hansen hair remover - you can get at drug stores and Wal-Mart. It is great and every time you use it the hair does not grow back as much - my legs are almost completely hair free now. It is very gentle to the skin

Christians, why would you block a user, is your faith so fragile and your skin so thin?

Really....what's a single good reason for blocking a user?

Christians, why would you block a user, is your faith so fragile and your skin so thin?
Well it is my opinion that there are two main reasons.

1) So they can encourage and spread more lies about Atheists

2) They are very close-minded to hear the opinions of Atheists because their faith is very fragile and they have very thin skin.
